the tea party. they are not sentient.

Feb. 26th, 2011 | 05:10 pm

Palin and her friend criticize a tax deduction for mothers who require
breast pumps. They use the term "nanny state". "Obama care" might have
also been used.

so. families are not wealthy enough for the mother to stay home from work. she buys a breast pump to store milk. An Palin is lambasting a tax break for working families.

A prescription for Viagra is deductible. The interest on your mortgage
is tax deductible. Palin argues that devices that help mothers provide
breast milk to their babies should not be tax deductible. I don't
understand who Palins constituents are. But Palin seems semi-literate
and reality-dyslexic. Perhaps her constituents are the same.

That does not really matter though. What matters is her constituents
hear her use the words "Nanny state" and "Obamacare".

They make a quip about the price of milk being so high. Milk comes from
cows. The food cows eat is highly subsidized. The commodities traders
and big processing firms squeeze the farmers. So we are essentially
subsidizing the commodities traders and big processing firms

Are Tea Party leaders Sentient? probably not.

geoheat. star heat.

Feb. 26th, 2011 | 05:04 pm

I suspect most of the heat generated from below the crust of the earth to the core of the earth is generated by friction. Most of this mass behaves as a hyperdense semi-liquid. Gravity and momentum keep it sloshing against itself. the torque of the Earth.

there will be no heat death of the universe. Gravity does not wear out. as it attracts matter. the density and gravity of accumulating matter generates increased friction and pressure. eventually nuclear fusion and fission happen. Maybe black holes even turn into pulsars eventually. who the hell cares!

Atlas Droogs

Feb. 13th, 2011 | 04:04 am

well damn, they finally made an Atlas Shrugged film.
The Rating before the preview neglected to mention it is based on a book that has caused a lot of brain damage.

The setting of the film appears updated toward modern times.
It will have to gloss over more reality than the novel did.
Things like Japan making better cars than the American big three,
and wealthier Americans preferring to own cars built by European nations with much higher taxes and greater welfare policies. And Soybeans being one of America's largest cash crops.

a story of leon

Jan. 17th, 2011 | 02:34 pm

about 3 or 5 years ago I stopped to talk to one of my neigbhors.
He was an old guy named Leon. He had purchased a three story brick home next to his own.
He wanted to sell it for about 180 grand. He told me he'd pay me a thousand dollars if I could refer a buyer to him.
The house remains unsold. Leon died of cancer about 2 years ago.
His son or relatives are in charge of the home now.
they are figuring out what to do with it.
It is a very nice home. it is too valuable to sell in this neighborhood.

the secret of pork

Jan. 17th, 2011 | 01:44 pm

the chinese restaurants and fast food joints have ruined pork.
particularly the potential for Pork Chili.

You've got to broil the pork. ribs, steaks, loins, chops.
then drain the fat and chop it up.

for the chili you've got to sautee onions and peppers until the onions are a bit caramelized.
then dump into a pot with the pork and throw in some diced tomatoes.

illegal immigrant hollering match

Dec. 25th, 2010 | 12:01 pm

all these illegal immigrants give folks stuff to argue about on television.

Americans remain faithfully ignorant that NAFTA and WTO rules totally fucked up Mexico for most Mexicans.

Americans remain devoutly ignorant that NAFTA and WTO rules totally fucked up Mexico for most Mexicans.

So they come here to do some honest labor and buy food and shelter and entertainment.

We can either eliminate NAFTA and WTO

or we can give each state its own latitude for granting immigrant laborers some form of legal residency.

or both.

all this talk about building more walls and deporting millions of laborers...is just bullshit.

Americans like to argue about the state of education in America. we spend a lot of money on education. but we live in a consumer paradise. The lower 50 percent of American students should be doing the work illegal immigrants do. but they generally grow up so detached from industry and agriculture...in suburbs or hollowed out cities surrounded by television and ipods and cell phones...that that is not a natural progression any more.
